This Japanese issued Type 30 Arisaka rifle bayonet measures 20 1/8" long overall with a 4 1/4" long straight wood handle secured by rivets and a flat sided bird's head shaped pommel and a 15" long blade. The bayonet fetures the straight rectangular quillon and the pommel has serial #91091 with other charcter markings present. The bayonet was manufactured at an unknown arsenal under Kokura supervision and is in near excellent condition retaining over 90% original blue finish with the balance exhibiting a pleasing gray gun metal due to light wear. The wood grips have a couple dings and a sliver of a chip missing from the lower edge but otherwise they retain nearly all of their varnish finish. A very fine specimen for the collector.
