The Remington Arms Company introduced the model 41 Targetmaster single shot bolt action rimfire rifle in 1936 and it featured a 27" barrel, bolt mounted safety and a pistol grip walnut stock. This rifle was offered in four different variations known as the standard model (41A), standard model in 22 Rem Special caliber (41AS), receiver peep sight variation (41P) and the smooth bore variation (41SB). There were a total of 306,880 model 41 rimfire rifles manufactured when it was discontinued in 1939.
