This Marlin manufactured early variation magazine guard plate is for the model 780 bolt action rimfire rifle and is in very good condition with light wear. The early variation plate has a .268" rear (takedown screw) hole and prevents the early variation (hour glass shaped) takedown screw from falling out when not attached to the takedown screw stud.
