This Marlin pre-1968 manufactured first variation receiver is for the model 989M2 semi-auto rimfire rifle and is in very good condition retaining 97% original blue finish. The first variation receiver does not have the hold open notch and does not have the serrated lines on the top of the receiver between the scope mounting grooves. This is the only part on the model 989M2 rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines.  (file photo)
