This Mossberg manufactured early variation receiver without scalloped cut for cover plate assembly is for the early variation model 42B bolt action rimfire rifle in 22LR caliber and was manufactured circa 1938. This receiver is in very good condition exhibiting a brownish gray patina with honest light wear. This is the only part on the model 42B rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines.  (file photos)
