This Mossberg manufactured late variation receiver with scalloped cut for cover plate assembly is for the late variation model 42B bolt action rimfire rifle in 22LR caliber and was manufactured circa 1939 through 1941. This receiver is in very good condition exhibiting a mixture of thinning original blue finish with a brown patina and light high edge wear. This is the only part on the model 42B rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines.  (file photos)
