Here is a Whitney Kennedy Small Frame lever action Sporting rifle in 44-40 caliber with a 24" long round barrel having a dark bore with worn but visible rifling its entire length along with some light pitting present. This rifle has serial #B135 and features the serpentine style lever. The metal surfaces exhibit a brownish gray patina with a film of older surface rust specks. All printing is clear and fully legible. The walnut butt stock and forearm rate very good with light dings, handling marks and perhaps 70% original varnish finish remaining on the butt stock. The three leaf rear sight broke into two pieces just behind the dovetail but both pieces are present. Mechanically, the rifle appears to function properly. The serial number is located on the lower tang, lever and on the inside of the butt plate. A nice solid, yet affordable example.  {Antique}  (see photos)
