Early Colt Python Double Action Revolver

     Here is a minty early manufactured Colt Python double action revolver in 357 Magnum caliber with a 6" rent rib barrel having a full shroud and a bright, excellent bore. The Python was first introduced in 1955 with about 300 manufactured the first year. This revolver has serial #6091 and was manufactured circa 1958. The metal surfaces retain 99% plus original reflective royal blue finish. The side whites of the hammer rate excellent lacking any oxidation staining. The first variation checkered walnut grips with gold colored factory medallions rate near excellent with the slightest amount of wear, a very small chip on the bottom front edge and verdigris one the medallions. This first variation style grip design was standard on this model until 1963 when the design was changed to feature less checkering. Mechanically, this revolver functions as nice as it looks. History of this revolver: this revolver has been a safe queen for many years as it was handed down from a father to his son and only recently it has been determined that it should be sold. I would take an educated guess that this revolver had only about a dozen rounds fired through it. A fabulous collector's piece lacking only its box.  {C&R}
