Remington Kleanbore Hi-Speed Box of 22 LR Ammuntion - Shot - Partial Box
This Remington manufactured green, red and off-white cardboard box with the dog bone design contains 29 of the original 50 rounds of Kleanbore Hi-Speed 22 LR shot with brass cases and is in about very good condition with light wear, yellowing, a 9/16" split in the top panel, a 7/16" split in the top, back edge and a 3/8" split in the top, front edge. "REG. U.S. PAT. OFF." is NOT printed inside the dogbone logo. The product code "R24H" is printed on the top panel. The front panel displays six lines of information including the following words: "THESE CARTRIDGES ARE POSITIVELY / NON-CORROSIVE". The back panel displays nine lines of information. The red ball logo WITHOUT REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. underneath is printed on the bottom of the box as well as the patent number 1,443,328. A factory rubber stamped set of numbers/letters are present, but faint, on the bottom panel. The end flap warning reads "DANGEROUS / WITHIN 1 MILE" and the inside displays ten lines of red printing running horizontally. The last line reads "other than KLEANBORE". A thumb cut is present on the right end of the box. The brass casings display the "U-3" headstamp and have a waxy substance coating them. (file photos)
Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1931 and was produced until circa 1936.
Note: This box is the Huegel # REM-7.4 LR-4(b) variation. This box displays the "AA-1" bottom, # 7 & 9 end flap, and "R24H" product code. Due to this being a Hi-Speed box, the front panel is similar to Huegel's "I" front, but has an additional line of information. The back of the box does not match any of Huegel's examples. The dogbone logo does NOT contain "REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.".
