Stevens Ideal No. 49 "Walnut Hill" Single Shot Rifle

     Here is an attractive Stevens Ideal No. 49 Walnut Hill single shot target rifle rechambered to 25-35 caliber with a 28" long number 1 weight part round part octagon barrel having a bright, excellent bore. The barrel retains 99% of an added hot imersion blue finish with all printing clear and fully legible. The receiver has the simplest of factory engraving including scroll, geometric designs and border lines. The receiver exhibits a pewter grayish light brown patina with perhaps 15% strong original case colors in protected areas. The Swiss style butt plate retains all of its added nickel finish. The checkered pistol grip target style walnut butt stock with cheek rest and forearm rate very good to near excellent with light handling marks and about 90% of its original varnish finish. The barrel has a slot blank in the front sight slot and a pair of scope mounting blocks are present. The forearm supports an off hand flat ball shaped support. Mechanically, this rifle functions perfectly.  {C&R}    (see photos)
