History: The Winchester Repeating Arms Company introduced the model 1900 single shot bolt action rimfire rifle in 1900 with the first produced rifles being available on December 22 of 1899 and first shipments going out on March 1st 1900. This basic boy's rifle was of a simple design featuring a gum wood stock and an 18" barreled receiver which could be taken down by simply unturning the one screw on the belly of the forearm section. This takedown rifle was chambered in 22 Short and Long, had a simple stamped sheeet metal trigger guard and no provision for a butt plate. A total of 105,000 rifles were produced by June 9th of 1902 when this model was replaced by an improved variation known as the model 1902.
