Savage Sporter Model 23A Bolt Action Rimfire Rifles: 1923 - 1933 (Serial # Range 25,000 - 127,000)
History: The Savage Arms Company introduced the Sporter model 23A rifle in 1923 with serial #25,000 as an improved version of its predicessor the Sporter model 22 rifle. The Sporter model 23A is in 22 LR caliber and features a 23" barrel with open sights, detachable magazine and a walnut stock. This rifle was discontinued in 1933 at serial #127,000 and replaced with the Sporter model 23AA rimfire rifle. Parts for the Sporter model 22 and 23AA rifles are found elsewhere on this web site.
