History: Savage Arms Company introduced the Sporter model 23AA rimfire rifle in 1933 at serial #127,000 replacing the Sporter model 23A rifle. The Sporter model 23AA rifle had many mechanical improvements over its predicessor including the trigger, safety and bolt assembly. This rifle was discontinued in 1942 with the United States recently joining the fight in World War 2.
