Colt Pre-Woodsman Semi-Auto Pistol
Colt introduced the Pre-Woodsman semi-auto target pistol in 1915 and it was then named the "Colt Automatic Pistol" but despite the popularity of this pistol and its production of nearly 54,000 pieces in the thirteen years it was manufactured, its official name never caught on. However, the name which did catch on derived from its replacement in the year 1927, "The Woodsman". The Pre-Woodsman was manufactured in two barrel configurations but aside from this, the pistol pretty much remained identical throughout it's production period.
