Remington Model 572 Fieldmaster Slide Action Rimfire Rifles: (1955 - Present)
History: The Remington Arms Company introduced the model 572 Fieldmaster rimfire rifle in 1955 as their new slide action rifle which replaced their model 121 rimfire rifle which had been discontinued in 1954. This completely redesigned repeater featured a 21" barrel, tubular magazine and walnut stocks. Over the years, Remington offered a number of variations including a lightweight variation with an anodized alloy barrel in three different finishes (Buckskin Tan, Crow-Wing Black and Teal-Wing Blue), Smoothbore variations with a Routledge bore and a couple of limited production editions known as their 150th and 175th Anniversary editions which were manufactured in 1966 and 1991. Remington still manufactures this model today.
