History: Harrington & Richardson introduced the model 349 Gamester in 1952 as an improved version of the current production model 348 Gamester. The model 349 featured a shorter barrel (26" instead of 28") and came with an external variable choke system. All other features appear to be the same with the model 348 which consisted of an oil finished walnut stock with fluted comb, finger grooved forearm, vented rubber recoil pad and right side safety lever. The model 349 was discontinued in 1955 to make way for the model 351 Huntsman which had a walnut stained hard wood stock as a cost cutting measure.
