Remington Model 510 Targetmaster Bolt Action Rimfire Rifles:  1939 - 1962

History: The Remington Arms Company introduced the model 510 Targetmaster bolt action single shot rimfire rifle line in 1939. The company offered a few variations amongst the model 510 line known as Grades. Their standard rifle was known as an "A" grade and featured a 25" long barrel, standard barrel mounted sights and a pistol grip walnut stock. The "C" grade was known as their carbine variant, the "P" grade featured a ramp style front sight and receiver mounted peep sight, the "SB" grade was their smooth bore variant in standard and Routledge (stepped) variants with only a bead for the front sight. Last is their "X" grade rifle which featured a better set of barrel mounted sights over their standard "A" grade rifles. During the later years of manufacture, Remington added grooves to the receivers of this rifle line for scope mounting. The model 510 Targetmaster line was disscontinued in 1962 with 545,000 rifles produced.
