History: The Remington Arms Company introduced the model 721 bolt action repeating rifle in 1948 as their new rifle to replace their discontinued model 720 rifle which ceased production in 1944. The model 721 rifle was offered in five popular calibers: 264 Win Mag, 270 Win, 280 Rem, 30-06 Sprg. and 300 H&H Magnum with a 24" long (standard weight) or a 26" long (heavy weight) barrel. Standard models are equipped with open sights and a fixed four round magazine (non detachable or hinged). This rifle was offered in a number of grades including A, ADL and BDL with select walnut stocks and checkering. The rifle was discontinued in 1962 and replaced with the more popular model 700 rifle.
