Winchester Model 100 Semi-Auto Carbines & Rifles:  (1961 - 1973)

History: The Winchester Repeating Arms Company introduced the model 100 semi-auto rifle in 1961 after discontinuing their previous centerfire rifle self loader four years prior (their model 1907 or 07). The model 100 is basically a redesigned version of their lever action model 88 which was introduced in 1955 featuring a capped pistol grip one piece walnut stock, detachable four round magazine, barrel mounted iron sights and factory drilled for scope or peep sight mounting options. This firearm was introduced in three popular hunting calibers and offered in both rifle and carbine barrel lengths. Early rifle stocks (Pre-64) featured cut checkering while later rifle stocks had basket weave style pressed checkering and carbines had no checkering whatsoever. Production ceased in 1973.
