This Springfield Armory manufactured fourth or fifth variation firing pin is for the model 1873 trapdoor rifle and carbine and is in very good condition exhibiting a grayish brown patina with light wear. (file photo)
Note: Trapdoor rifles and carbines manufactured between January 1881 and December 1886 with serial numbers between circa 144,000 and 370,000 would have been manufactured with this firing pin.
