This Springfield Armory manufactured third variation firing pin is for the model 1873 trapdoor rifle and carbine and is in very good condition exhibiting a grayish brown patina with light wear.  (file photo)

Note: Trapdoor rifles and carbines manufactured between June 1878 and January 1881 with serial numbers between circa 85,000 and 144,000 would have been manufactured with this firing pin.
