This Springfield Armory manufactured sixth variation aluminum-bronze alloy firing pin is for the model 1873 trapdoor rifle and carbine and is in very good condition exhibiting a brown patina with light wear. (file photo)
Note: Trapdoor rifles and carbines manufactured after December 1886 with serial numbers above circa 370,000 would have been manufactured with this firing pin.
