This Springfield Armory manufactured butt plate trap locking spring is for the butt plate on the model 1877 & 1881 Trapdoor carbines or model 1888 Trapdoor rifle and is in very good condition exhibiting a grayish brown patina and some specks of rust and / or pitting. (file photo)
