This Remington manufactured second variation plain steel butt plate with circular "Remington / UMC" logo is for the earlier No. 4 Rolling Block rimfire rifle with the early variation butt stock and is in very good condition exhibiting a brownish gray patina with scattered specks of older rust and / or light pitting.  (file photos)

Note: the curvature of the second variation butt plates will ONLY fit on early variation butt stocks as the contour is different when compare with intermediate and late variatiopn butt stocks.
