Here is an nice, honest and high condition Remington model 8 takedown semi-auto rifle in 35 Rem. caliber with a 22" long barrel having a bright, excellent bore. This rifle has serial number 49011 and the date code (DJ) places its month and year of manufacture in September of 1940 (?). The metal surfaces retain about 90% of its thinning original blue finish mixed with the balance as a pleasing brown patina. The serrated steel factory butt plate with toe extension exhibits a soft brown patina overall. The checkered pistol grip semi-fancy walnut stock and forearm rate very good with a few light handling marks and perhaps 35% of the original varnish finish remaining. This rifle is equipped with aKing silver beaded front sight, factory original rear barrel mounted sight and a Lyman No. 1A folding receiver peep sight. Mechanically, this rifle functions perfectly. A fine example of a deluxe Remington model 8 in a popular caliber. {C&R}  (see photos)
