This Remington manufactured 22 1/2" long octagon barrel is for the No. 4 single shot rolling block rifle in 22 rimfire caliber with a takedown frame (non-solid frame variation) and is in good condition exhibiting a dark brownish gray patina with scattered specks of older rust. The bore is bright and has only a few specks of pitting present. The barrel is simply marked "Remington Arms Co. Ilion, N.Y. U.S.A.".  (file photo)
