This Remington manufactured late variation escutcheon nut is for the No. 4 and new model 4 single shot rolling block rimfire rifle and mounts to the underside of the butt stock to aid in securing the stock to the tang. This escutcheon nut is in very good condition exhibiting a brown patina with light wear. (file photo)
