This United States Cartridge Co. manufactured blue, orange, and white cardboard box contains all 50 rounds of 22 Short blank cartridges with copper cases and buff wads and is in very good condition with light shelf wear, a few wrinkles, and a 1/4" split in the right end flap's top hinge. The first line on the top panel reads "50 22 CALIBRE" and the company location is stated as "LOWELL, MASS.". "F-I" is printed on the bottom panel. The copper casings display the "US-4" headstamp and have a tarnish present. One cartridge is crimped differently than the others and may not be correct to this box.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in the early 1920's and was produced until 1926.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # US-8 S-1(b) variation. The difference observed is that there is no period before "22" in the first line of information printed on the top panel. "F-I" is printed on the bottom panel.
