This United States Cartridge Co. manufactured blue, orange and white cardboard box contains all 50 rounds of Lesmok 22 Short ammunition with copper cases and is in very good to near excellent condition with dirt smudges and light shelf wear. The top panel states the company location as "LOWELL, MASS" and the side panels state "SHORT / RIFLE CARTRIDGES / LESMOK  RIM FIRE". The bottom panel displays the guarantee and two thumb cuts. "F-16" is printed on the tuck portion of the right end flap. The copper casings display the "US-4" headstamp and have a light coating of tarnish present. Two grooves are displayed on the bullets and the lubricant has hardened and turned yellow with age.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in the early 1920's and was produced until 1926.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # US-8 S-2(e) variation. The differences observed are that the bottom panel does not match Huegel's due to slightly different wording and arrangement of the text and the bullets display two grooves. This box displays the C style side panels and the guarantee on the bottom panel. This box does NOT use a side sealing label.
