This Winchester manufactured first variation receiver and first variation barrel assembly with the synthetic front sight are for the earlier model 290 semi-auto rimfire rifle which uses a synthetic rear sight (sold separately) that mounts with a single screw and the first variation magazine tube assembly (also sold separately). This receiver and barrel assembly are in very good condition retaining about 95% original blue finish with light wear and possibly a few specks of surface rust. The receiver is the only part on the model 290 rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receiver and barrel assemblies do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines. (file photos)
