This Winchester Repeating Arms Co. manufactured two piece, full top, cardboard box with a green top label, yellow and red side band, and red over label contains 33 of the original 50 rounds of Precision 75 22 LR ammunition with copper casings and is in very good condition with light wear and dirt smudges. The top label displays the codes 49 and 4-21 while the red over label states "WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK / "PRECISION 75" ". The side band displays a dot punched date code and the code 143. The numbers after 143 are covered by the over label. This box was sealed by a piece of paper tape running from the front panel, across the bottom, and onto the back panel. The ends of the tape were hidden under the side band. The remnants of this tape are still visible on the front and back of the box, but it has been removed from the bottom of the box. The copper casings display the "H-10" headstamp and one cannelure and have a coating of tarnish present.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1921 and was produced until 1923.

Note: This box is the Huegel # WRA-53 LR-3 variation. This box displays a top label and a side band, not a partial wrap around label.

This box is cataloged in Richard Rains's book Winchester Two-Piece .22 Boxes 1873 To 1927 as WRA-130 LR-39. We cannot determine the exact variation because the over label is covering the second set of numbers on the side sealing band.

Date Codes Observed on This Box: 49 & 4-21 (top) 143 (side)
