This Winchester Repeating Arms Co. manufactured two piece, split top, cardboard box with green top label and orange side sealing band contains all 50 rounds of 22 WRF ammunition with copper cases and is in good condition with moderate wear. The top of the box features splits up both back corners and a 1 1/2" split starting at the right corner and running along the top, back edge. The back, left corner of the bottom half of the box displays a 3/4" split while the right corner features a split running completely down the corner and starting 1/16" across the back edge. The top panel features Winchester in quotes (") above the words "Trade Mark.", the "H" logo, and the label codes 18 and 10-6. The front of the side sealing band displays an indented seven line guarantee, the company name, the label codes 112 and 10-6, and the dot punched date code. The back panel displayed at least four lines of information, but most of the top half of the label has been torn off. Both ends display a red W overprinted by the cartridge information in black and followed by "Trade Mark Reg. in / U. S. Pat. Off." in red at the bottom. The copper casings display the "H-10" headstamp and have a coating of tarnish present.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1906 and was produced until circa 1911.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WRA-8 WRF-1(b) variation. The difference observed is that this box displays a period after "Trade Mark" on the top panel.

This box is similar to the box cataloged in Richard Rains's book Winchester Two-Piece .22 Boxes 1873 To 1927 as WRA-152 WRF-8(b). The differences observed are that this box displays a period after "Trade Mark" on the top panel and the side sealing band measures 15/16" wide. The side sealing band displays the codes 112 and 10-6.
