This Western Cartridge Company manufactured yellow, blue and red cardboard box contains 39 of the origial 50 rounds of Super-X extra clean wax coated 22 LR ammunition with nickel cases and copper washed bullets and is in good condition with moderate wear, dirt smudges, a puncture in one edge, and a crease in the left end flap. The product code "K1225R" is printed in the lower right corner of the front panel. The bottom of the box displays "Made in U. S. A." in the upper right corner, ten patent numbers, and the address line reading "WESTERN CARTRIDGE COMPANY, East Alton, Ill., U.S.A. / Division of OLIN INDUSTRIES, INC.". This box displays thumb cuts on both ends of the box and the end flap warning reads "RANGE / 1 MILE / BE CAREFUL". The nickel casings display the "SU-1" headstamp.  (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1947 and was produced until 1953.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WCC-8 LR-1(a) variation. The differences observed are that this box displays blue printing as opposed to black and the bottom of the box does not match Huegel's sample photo.
