This Western Cartridge Co. manufactured yellow, blue and red cardboard box contains all 50 rounds of Super-X long range extra clean wax coated 22 Long ammunition with brass cases and copper washed bullets and is in very good to near excellent condition with light shelf wear and light dirt smudging. The product code "K1216R" is printed on the front panel. The bottom of the box displays 10 patent numbers, the trademark information "TRADE-MARKS REG. U. S. PAT. OFF. AND OTHER COUNTRIES   M.R.   MARQUE DEPOSEE", and the ownership lines "WESTERN CARTRIDGE CO., East Alton, Ill., U.S.A. / Division of OLIN INDUSTRIES, INC.". This box displays thumb cuts on both ends of the box and the end flaps read "RANGE / 1 MILE / BE CAREFUL". The brass casings display the "SU-1" headstamp and have a light tarnish present.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1947 and was produced until 1953.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WCC-8 L-1(b) variation. The differences observed are that this box displays blue printing as opposed to black, this box does not display the word "TRADE-MARK" underneath "Western" on the top panel, the product code on the front panel reads "K1216R", and the bottom of the box does not match Huegel's sample photo. The bottom of this box displays "Made in U.S.A." in the upper right corner, 10 patent numbers, the trademark information "TRADE-MARKS REG. U. S. PAT. OFF. AND OTHER COUNTRIES   M.R.   MARQUE DEPOSEE", and the owneship lines "WESTERN CARTRIDGE CO., East Alton, Ill., U.S.A. / Division of OLIN INDUSTRIES, INC.".
