This Western Cartridge Co. manufactured yellow, blue and red cardboard box contains all 50 rounds of Super-X long range extra clean wax coated 22 Short ammunition with nickel cases and copper washed bullets and is in very good condition with light wear, some old pencil markings, dirt smudging, and a 1 1/4" split along the top hinge of the back of the box. The product code "K1208R" is printed on the front panel of the box. The bottom of the box displays the copyright "©w. c. co" in the upper left corner, "Western" printed in red ink, six pattent numbers, and the ownership line "WESTERN CARTRIDGE CO., East Alton, Ill., U. S. A.". The end flap warning reads "CAUTION! / Dangerous within / 1 Mile". One end of the cardboard ammo tray has become unglued. The nickel casings display the "SU-1" headstamp.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1935 and was produced until late 1941.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WCC-6A S-1(c) variation. The differences observed are that this box displays blue printing as opposed to black and the bottom of the box does not match Huegel's sample photo. This box bottom is similar to Huegel's "A" style, but the wording is different due to this being a 22 Short box.

This box is S-11a in Huegel's Super-X Checklist.
