This Western Cartridge Co. manufactured yellow, blue and red cardboard box contains 41 of the original 50 rounds of Xpert 29 grain 22 Short ammunition with copper cases and is in good condition with moderate wear. The left end flap has split along most of the hinge, leaving a 3/16" piece holding it to the box. The right end flap has a tear running from the back edge into the bottom panel of the box. The tear is 3/4" long. A crease runs the length of the top pannel and a small portion of the colorful layer of paper is missing from the bottom panel, likely due to the removal of an old price sticker. The product code "K1262R" is printed on the front panel. The bottom of the box displays the copyright "©w. c. co.", "Western" printed in red ink, four patent numbers, and the ownership line "WESTERN CARTRIDGE CO., East Alton, Ill., U. S. A.". Both end flaps state "LEAD LUBRICATED". The upper portion of the left end flap reads "87-M" and the right one is blank. The copper casings display the "2-1" headstamp and have specks of tarnish present.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1937 and was produced until circa 1941.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WCC-52 S-1(a) variation. The difference observed is that this box displays copper casings as opposed to brass.
