This Western Cartridge Co. manufactured off-white, yellow, blue, and red cardboard box with the circular bullseye target contains all 50 rounds of Smokeless 22 LR ammunition with copper cases and Lubaloy coated bullets and is in good to very good condition with light to moderate wear, moderate dirt smudging, and a brown spot on the bottom panel. The top edge of the front panel displays a 3/8" split on the left end and a 3/16" split on the right end. The back panel has a 5/16" tear on one side and the right end flap has a 9/16" split in the bottom hinge. The top panel states "Lubaloy" and "NON-CORROSIVE PRIMING". The bottom panel displays the copyright information in the upper left corner, Western printed in red ink, one patent number, and patent information above the company name and address. The top of the right end flap reads "87-C". The copper casings display the "2-1" headstamp and have a tarnish present.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1931 and was produced until circa 1939.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WCC-4.4 S-1(a) variation. The differences observed are that the very top of the left end flap is blank, the very top of the right end flap reads "87-C", and the bullets are NOT copper washed. This box displays the "H" style bottom.
