This Thompson Center manufactured first variation walnut stock is for the early percussion Hawken muzzle loading rifle in 45 and 50 caliber. This stock is in very good condition having a few light dings and handling marks. The stock is void of any cracks or chips. (file photos)

Warning: First variation stocks have the early location patch box cut which is 5/8" away from the butt plate, the forward upper tang hole is designed for the wood screw and NOT the longer machined screw which travels completely through the stock and attaches to the trigger guard, larger (1/2" diameter) recessed lockplate bushing hole for the 1st variation lockplate bushing, earlier style lockplate cut, larger rear recess for the 1st variation trigger guard and the tip designed for the early variation(one screw) forend cap.
