This Thompson Center manufactured first variation octagon barrel measures 27" long not including the breech plug and is for the Seneca muzzle loading rifle. This sub-assembly consists of the barrel, breech plug and the barrel lug. The overall condition is good retaining most of its original blue finish having light wear and some scatteres specks of rust. A previous owner has had two threaded holes added near the original rear sight holes possibly for a different sight. The first variation barrel will lack the model "Seneca" marking and has the rear sight mounting holes 1/4" apart (center to center) for the first variation rear sight (sold separately).  (file photos)
