This Thompson Center manufactured first variation brass forend escutcheon is for the early Seneca muzzle loading rifle and is in very good condition with light wear. The first variation forend escutcheon is plain on the face and lacks the stepped ridge on the back side around the periphery that the second variation escutcheon has.  (file photo)
