This Japanese manufactured 6" long early variation dust cover with the machined "L" shaped stop held in place with two rivets is for the Type 38 Arisaka bolt action rifle and carbine in 6.5 caliber and is in good condition exhibiting a mixture of original blue finish with a brown patina and having specks of pitting, rust and honest wear. This dust cover has a serial number stamped on the back edge and maybe even an arsenal marking.  (file photos)
