This Japanese manufactured early variation barreled receiver is for the earlier type 99 Arisaka bolt action rifle in 7.7 Jap caliber and features a 25 1/2" barrel with a front sight (without guards) and rear sight assembly without the provision for the aircraft arms. The rear sight spring screw is missing. This barreled receiver is in good condition exhibiting a grayish brown patina and having some spots of pin prick pitting and rust staining. The receiver is the only part on the Type 99 Arisaka rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Barreled receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines.  (file photos)
