Here is a nice U.S. M1 30 caliber semi-auto carbine manufactured by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors. This carbine has serial #5043769 on the receiver, "Inland Mfg. Div. / General Motors / 2-44" marked barrel with a bright bore, two rivet handguard and low wood pistol grip stock with faint wheel acceptance mark on the right side and "IO" stamped on the left side within the sling cut. This carbine has the Type B safety, operating slide with the 6 O'clock cut, Type C magazine release stamped with an "M", Type B front band, Type C recoil plate, Type C Inland trigger housing and Type A non-adjustable rear sight marked "S" on the left sde and "GE-Q" on the right side. The metal surfaces retain most of their drab greenish military finish with some scattered specks of pin prick pitting on the barrel and operating slide. The breech bolt has more of a dark blue/black finish. The sling loop on the front band has moderate pitting and is likely not original to the band. The stock and hand guard rate very good having been lightly sanded and nicely refinished. This carbine includes a commercial manufactured 30 round metal magazine. A nice example for an Inland M1 Carbine.  {C&R}
