Here is an early Savage model 1899 H lever action Featherweight takedown rifle in 22 Hi-Power caliber with a 20" long barrel having a bright, excellent bore. This rifle has serial #121938 and was manufactured circa 1912. The metal surfaces retain about 95% strong original blue finish with the balance exhibiting a brown patina and containing a few specks of pin prick pitting. The lever exhibits a soft brown patina overall. The top of the receiver has two professionally added dimples where a gunsmith might have had the second thought before drilling and tapping (see buster). The straight grip walnut butt stock and forearm rate excellent with light dings, handling marks and over 90% original varnish finish remaining. The rifle is equipped with factory original sights. Mechanically, this firearm functions perfectly. A great rifle in a popular caliber for the collector.  {C&R}  (see photos)
