Here is a very nice and early Smith & Wesson model 36 Chief's Special double action revolver in 38 Special caliber with a 1 7/8" barrel having a bright, excellent bore. This early revolver has serial number 347503 and was manufactured some time between 1962 and 1966. The metal surfaces retain 98% original blue finish with the loss due primarily to scratches on both sides of the frame and sideplate. The hammer and trigger retain strong original case colors with honest wear. The checkered walnut grips with factory medallions and diamond around the mounting screw are serial numbered to the revolver and rate very good with a couple healthy dings. This revolver features the pinned barrel and flat latch. Mechanically, the revolver functions perfectly.  A fine little revolver for a self protection piece and as an investment. {C&R}  (see photos)
