Here is a U.S. M1 30 caliber carbine manufactured by Winchester. This carbine has serial #5643595 on the receiver, a Winchester proof marked barrel with a bright bore that rates very good. This carbine is equipped with a two rivet handguard with a "O-RMC" stamping on the underside and a low wood pistol grip stock with a ".U." stamp on the left side. The walnut stock and hand guard rate about very good with dings, handling marks and a dark oil finish overall. This carbine has a type C safety, a type D operating slide, an "M" stamped type C magazine release, type C front band with bayonet lug, type C recoil plate stamped "RIA", type C trigger housing stamped "W", a "W" stamped type C hammer and an adjustable rear sight stamped "H" within a shield on the right side. The metal surfaces retain most of their greenish military finish with light wear on high edges and in locations where operation would honestly wear parts. The butt plate has some surface rust staining. This carbine includes a 15 round magazine which retains a regular blue finish. A good example of a Winchester M1 Carbine.  {C&R}
