Here is a Colt model 1849 Pocket percussion revolver in 31 caliber with a 4" octagon barrel. This revolver has serial number 169189 and is all matching except for its unnumbered wedge. The metal surfaces may have been lightly cleaned many years ago as they now exhibit a pleasing gun metal gray color with light dings. The brass trigger guard and grip frame are gaining a light ochre color. All of the printing is clear and fully legible. The stage coach scene on the cylinder is very strong. A couple of the screw heads are misshapen with slot wear. Mechanically, this revolver functions well. The walnut grip rates very good or better. A nice solid example of a 49 Pocket for the collector who does not have deep pockets (pun intended).  {Antique}  (see photos)
