This Japanese issued first variation bayonet and housing assembly are for the Typer 44 Arisaka carbine in 6.5 caliber. The bayonet measures 15 3/16" long overall with a 13 7/8" blade. The bayonet and first variation housing exhibit a mottled grayish brown patina with a few specks of rust and pin prick pitting. Located near the rear locking hook is a portion of a serial number and possibly some Japanese characters. The mounting screws are sold separately.
