The bottom of the box displays the trademark information "TRADE-MARKS REGISTERED IN U. S. PATENT OFFICE. MARCA REGISTRADA." and the ownership lines "WESTERN CARTRIDGE COMPANY, East Alton, Ill., U.S.A. / Division of OLIN INDUSTRIES, INC.". This box displays thumb cuts on both ends of the box and the end flaps read "RANGE / 1 MILE / BE CAREFUL". The brass casings display the "SU-1" headstamp.
Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1953 and was produced until 1956.
Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WCC-8 L-1(c) variation. The differences observed are that this box displays blue printing as opposed to black and the bottom of the box does not match Huegel's sample photo due to slightly different wording because this is a 22 Long box.
This box is L-27 in Huegel's Super-X Checklist.
