Barrel Sub-Assembly - Percussion - 50 Caliber - 2nd Variation - Original
This Thompson Center manufactured second variation octagon barrel measures 28" long not including the breech plug and is for the percussion Hawken muzzle loading rifle in 50 caliber. This sub-assembly consists of the early variation barrel without the "Hawken" marking and having the rear sight hole spacing 1 1/2" apart (center to center) for the first variation rear sight (sold separately), early variation breech plug with the clean out screw on the right side and the late variation 1 1/16" long barrel lug. The overall condition is very good retaining 95% original blue finish with light wear and a few specks of rust. The bore rates near excellent. (file photos)
